    My Point is:

If I am a reputable business and I am to hire a contractor I'd rather hire someone who works for "Serious Name Ltd" rather than "The It Geek ltd"

My CV states I am the director of my company and then I list my contracts as projects below that.

You'd be amazed (or maybe not) the amount of agents who ask whether being a company director was my last contract...

Well yes but I'd hazard a guess most people on there don't "advertise" thier business and the name is just on invoices and people are rarely concerned about it. If you need a decent name after just do a trading as name.

To be fair as long as you're not trading on the name (i.e. want it to be recognised) then choose something simple.

Mine is 2 words of 4 letters. The domain is free and its pretty non descript <colour> <shape> ltd so if I change business I am not thinking damn I'm called IT Services Only Ltd
Ofcourse I want it to be recognized , I am thinkin Next_Microsoft

started a topic choosing the co name.

    choosing the co name.

Do you customize your CV with the company information or do you leave as normal –just the person name ?

Do you rather choose a name like Smile Ltd. or Information Technology Consult Progression Group ITCPG ? The long and hard name appeals me but isn’t it kinda funny for a 1 person co ?

Working...
