Welcome Chippy.
My favourite wood is Rosewood or Walnut but it costs a fortune. Most of my own furniture is Pine (which does mark easily).
I'm an oak man.
Accidentally, as is my way. I thought that furniture looks nice, so bought it, and someone (a bit gobsmacked by my house) pointed out about a year later it was all oak. Which is nice.
Bloody hell - I could do that mate. You've spent way too long with your computers haven't you?
All in, a monkey and henry - per day.
I could do it and actually would like to but I dont have the time, I work alot of weekend and overnight, and its cheaper to get someone in, then me take a day off and do it.
If you London based and a geniune carpenter and good, PM me I got the following work I need doing,
1. New skirting to be fitted about 18meters worth.
2. New stair banister, and the things between them the stick things.
3. New understair cupboared door.
4. 6 new doors fitted.
5. Sorting some internal door frames.
6. The bottom stair needs to be made small, its massive as people who had house before had a stair lift.
