it was a big manufacturing dinosaur of a firm. built in the 50's and unchanged from the 50's.

the toilets.... well, they didn't have any. except those hole-in-the ground versions where flushing means flooding the whole place....not the easiest to manage in a suited and booted mode.

As in location. As per the earlier post, Birmingham wasn't a highlight. Hounslow perhaps comes a close second.

I know Banbury quite well. This quote amused me no end...

Very low wages, high property prices, police everywhere except when you need them, some road dug up somewhere all the time, dirty town centre full of charity shops and banks/building society with most of the supermarkets on the edge of town. Very high council tax and the wonderful link to London via the M40 does not mean much if you live on the wrong side of the town centre. On a bad day it can take you more than 20 minutes to get from the cross to the motorway.

Entertainment in town is virtually non-existing if you do not like hanging around in pubs. Parking impossible or expensive with traffic wardens that have read (or should I say written) the guide on how to be without compassion.

Depending which way the wind blows the smell of Krafts is just unbearable.
