I'd argue it is the end of trust in government. On both sides of the Atlantic opposition parties share a common quagmire when it comes to following the democracy rule book. Consider how both Trump & Boris have normalised lies, breaking the law, how do opposition parties compete with that? We're entering unprecedented times.

“ Labour's "devastating" general election defeat could spell the end of the party, shadow health secretary Jonathan Ashworth has warned.
