LOL - buying a few take-aways is alot cheaper than paying 50k for every year of marriage !

Men lose wife, house, home comforts, kids, assets and has to pay maintenance for kids (100% rightly). Women lose a partner, but can easily pick up another bloke - and have it all . Man sits in bedsit staring at the wall !

If I had a daughter my advice would be invest in breast enlargement and marry a rich man !

My daughter I give the same advice you give - to my son I suggest becoming a woman.

Men now do 30% of child raising and alot of men look after children while women work. like my sister and her husband. like Glen Poole, the f4j press man. He raised his daughter until she was 4 and his wife hardly saw her child. Did not stop the family court giving custody to his wife. She said "make no financial claim on me and you may see you child". Can you imagine a man saying that to a woman?

Not always, but it seems this way. However, in marriage itself, men have a lot more to gain than the woman who, despite the advances in women's rights, still end up being a support prop for their husbands ambitions and have to take a back seat on their own to bring up the kids. This rarely happens in reverse.

Ask any married man whether they cook their own dinner when they get home from work. The answer is inevitably no. Ask any married woman whether they cook dinner when they get home from work and the answer is inevitably yes.

It is a womans place to raise the kids while the man goes off to work.
It is a womans place to have the meal prepared for when the man gets home after work

My word - a contractor who understands what is going on - threaded you are one of the 1% of men I respect. f4j has a name for it - the retreat strategy. Only works if you mean it - you can't play games.

I believe you. The only way to win that game is to refuse to play. The system can't quite handle that.

1) Go bust.
2) Go insane and get signed on the sick.
3) Fsck off to another country without extradition to the UK.

With no kids involved there should be no reason a decent lawyer cant keep the figure to 50%. Less if he can show she made no contribution, but I believe in the 50/50 split.
If kids are involved it becomes a whole different ballgame.
Fathers have a responsibility to pay for their childrens up keep.
I do sympathise with the F4J crowd as it seems that fathers are being milked and denied access to their children.

I now an rarely involved with f4j as I have discovered that 99% of men are complete idiots who get what they deserve.

I get used to not being believed by those who have not been through it. But then I would not believe it myself if I had not seen it.

IANAL but I would guess yes!
She is entitled to 50% share of everything you own, therefore gets a 50% share of your business and is entitled to her share of divvies etc.

You either need to buy her out or carry on paying. Or shut up shop and cut all ties.

Give it up you divorceeeees.. whatever you do, you and your wife share everything 50 - 50, whatever you do she is still entitled to 50% of and whatever she does you are entitled to 50% of what she has... when are you guys going to be smart and marry someone who is capable of making as much money as you do?? I saw many intelligent men getting married to penniless very intellectually challeged girls then few years after they end up as poor as a mouse (this is not streo-typing so no insult to intelligent girls who are not earning enough money) !!

Mind you I know SupremeSpod's wife had loads of money inherited, and he is still asking for advice?? supremo, did you spend all your wife's money and now you want to stop giving her any money??

It's good advice to have a partner who has a similar earnings capacity to you and is reasonably ambitious herself.
