Maybe when you live there your nose becomes accustomed! Or your eyes get so polluted you stop seeing colours correctly?

Happens to me every year. Trip to London for Xmas shopping and all I come back with is Black Boggies!

Having said that I do like London.

In London for 2 days and have black snots for a week! It happens every time!
