    Denny, just ask yourself "What's the common denominator?" in all of your tulipe contracts...

    No I'm not joking. One of the jobs I got through Hays was a major bank, and the contract was just fine. I was never asked to change it. In fact I asked them to change a couple of things which they did without argument.

    And they always paid me weekly and on time.

    However, it's all down to individual experience and opinion, isn't it.

    Currently going through Matchtech, who I've never used before - 13 months and not a single late payment (even when I was late sending in a timesheet just before Christmas - I called them up and they did an extra payment run). Drinks & meal three or four times a year, and always helpful & polite. All in all highly recommended.

    The posh ones are no better, except that you substitute 'Essex born' to 'counties bred and public school educated'. Instead of lying they just evade answering you properly in an extremely annoying braying, haughty manner as if they're addressing a parlour maid. Instead of not bothering to ring, like the Chavs above, they can't wait to waste your time phoning you with nothing to say of any value just to explain why they haven't bothered to follow up your application yet (probably becaue they've been skiing or just got back from a shooting party weekend).

    Grrrrrrrr......
    So if I read this right, there are not many of them on your Xmas card list then denny?

    I have always heard good things about Modis, but have stopped using agencies now.

    Out of the ones I have had

    Real IT = part of RDL, fast payers but employed some underhand tactics

    Datatech = no problems

    Generic = btuliping barrow boys

    Exco = Excellent, no bs, fast payers
    edit: see that they are now James Harvard

    I just love Comp Fut.....you bill them for 40 hours and they pay you for 38.5,

    I when you ring up to ask why, the staff are ever so helpful, they tell you they will look into it and get back to you, but knowing you are ever so busy in work, they don't bother to ring back - very thoughtful.

    Their on-line website is so upto date with future enhancements - why today I logged on and there was a message saying there might be issues entering timesheets upto and around the 4th Jan.

    I've no idea how they've been with anyone else - but in my experience:

    They took 4 weeks to send and sign my contract, they constantly lose my faxes (timesheets and invoices), they have been on average 2 weeks late paying me.

    Their sales staff are friendly enough though and do reply promptly to my moans.
