What do you mean by "employer"?

If you are on contract they mean your agent. End clients never give references for contractors. Agencies would.

Of course they only give start date, end date and end client.

Any agent wanting more is pulling your chain.

Has anybody experienced a situation whereby Recruitment agencies ask for previous employer references even before setting up an interview ? Are these job agencies fake or are planning to gain business by calling the references ?
