    I'd just like to add I've nothing against the Indians or Chinese. I'm sure they very competent - after all both those countries have their own satellite launch programs.
    It's just a crying shame that this country gave up on serious science sometime in the 60s. A culture gets what it deserves. It's no coincidence that in Victorian times, scientists were celebrities. Now they are labelled "geeks" or "nerds" and the celebrities are Chantelle or Jade Goody.
