source: https://www.thetimes.co.uk/edition/b...d-us-b0w3pcfkrThe eurozone’s factories took on staff at the fastest pace in two decades last month in another sign that the bloc’s economy is rebounding rapidly.
The purchasing managers’ index for manufacturing in May showed activity surging to a near six-year peak and hiring intentions at their highest in the survey’s 20-year history.
Years of sluggishness have been set aside over the past 12 months as the currency area has picked up, posting faster growth than America or the UK in the three months to March. The recovery appears to be flowing into jobs, with unemployment down to 9.3 per cent from 10.2 per cent in the past year.
