You might joke, but there really is no point having one where I live because it will be stolen/destoyed.

In 1992 I shared a place with someone that had a 1976 escourt - it was stolen - not because it was valuable - just becasue it could be.

London is great - I have lived here seven years and needed a car twice - in both cases I hired one so motoring has cost about £250 in the last two years.

In a small way I see two fingers pointed up at brown!

Ahh, a reference to 'class' we must be in Tory Britain.

I took the honour of amending that post Lucy.

I have watched the posts on this site for a long time - and there is no way LB that you can impersonate a scally long enough. Your class will show through in the end.

I dont know where yous get that from - our pubs restaurants up here are full of "oldies". Its what makes it interesting.
Isn't it like that down south?

Poor you if your going out days are over. Maybe try a bookclub ?
The worst thing is that we don't have kids - that's what generally keeps people of my age at home.

However, we don't have to go out "on the pull" any more, which makes life a lot easier.

No sorry, but i have read about the 1950's in books, and seen it on TV. I don't think I would have liked it - it looked incredibally dull.

FFS In those days people thought that Cliff Richard was a bit subversive - all he was doing was copying Elvis.
