Only once the Bengali Islamic Democratic Republic of Tower Hamletistan introduce Sharia law. Then Sasguru can be publicly stoned down the Commercial Road for drinking alchohol opposite a mosque.....

Aye. Of which I'm a minority citizen. Still the locals do allow me to drink a beer opposite their mosque.

He'll win easily in London, the ghetto's love him
Silly me, I forgot to put on my really cynical hat this morning.

He chose to extend to the west because nobody votes for him in Kensington and Chelsea. He could have extended the zone into south east london, but although it's got plenty of gridlock there are lots of voters there too

Never underestimate Britons sheep mentality when it comes to voting morons back in to office Mordac!

Then again, why not make public transport a real alternative? Instead of increasing prices every where why not make it cheaper to use and more convenient by increasing routes and frequency?

Then again I guess its just easier taxing people innit. After all its only fair!

    The guy is a nutter.

He wants to charge £200 a day for any Lorry to enter the "Low Emission Zone" if it doesnt have a Euro4 engine.

We had Euro4 engines a while ago and we are moving onto Euro5 now. Heck knows what we will be on by the time we get to 2012 when he wants the emission zone in place.

Well all I can say is that a LGV (yes LGN not HGV as TFL keeps calling them...the govt changes the name from HGV to LGV then dont use it...argh!!!) does 9.5 miles/gallon and some chlsae tractors do 20 and they arent pullling 44 tonnes behind them. Modern LGVs are very, very fuel efficent having those 16 gears really helps.

What they should do is make it so that a LGV can only enter the zone when it is X% full of deliveries for just the zone. Then it could make 1 journey instead of the 5 it would take if the lorry was only 15% full.

"Mr Livingstone also announced that a 90% residents' discount given to people living within the congestion charging zone will be withdrawn for vehicles in band G."

First they give discount to get agreement from these people, and then change the rules...

""Band G sweeps in a lot of family cars such as the two litre Ford Mondeo automatic and the two-litre Citroen C8 automatic, which will mean a lot of households being hit when the charge zone is expanded."
