You sack ALL the tube workers and watch how strike ballots that will occur on some trumped up payment thing.

So the streets in London were busier and more traffic but apart from that minimal interruptions, sack all of them I say!

Only outside the city centre. There's only two lines at the moment, they're building or rather digging two more now, gonna be a ring.Originally posted by SueEllen View PostIs the metro ALL above ground?
The DLR has customer service assistants as it's all above ground.
They all have those weird platform door things too like they have on one or two tube lines.
Only trouble is there's bedlam when one breaks down, they need to get a driver and a train towing thing in front of it to shift it. That's why I always take the train to the airport....

Public transport strike here too, and it's the first day of school (and work for many people) but from what I've heard its actually been reasonably trouble free.

Still, I guess we must be the only country in the world that is paying higher fares to subsidise other countries railways.

Tube Strike
Lovely commute to South Wales this morning, the fog clinging to the majestic valley, and a cool clean breeze.

Mostly, just like the Metrolink in Manchester.Originally posted by SueEllen View PostIs the metro ALL above ground?
The DLR has customer service assistants as it's all above ground.
Difference with Manchester is that it crosses streets and dopey drivers don't realise, no matter how many times it happens, that when car meets tram, tram wins.
