For too long, central banks have been the only game in town. Governments have been only too happy to lean on them as a way of ducking difficult decisions and painful structural reform. It’s time to kick away the prop.
Like any politician is going to do anything other than kick the can down the road. Unless they can get a foreign power to invade an overseas territory - defeat the foreign power in war and get re-elected on a wave of euphoria.
