Did 4 days on the Inca trail in 2014 without switching my phone on, and will be doing similar cycling in Cuba in a couple of months.
Occasionally I leave my phone on my desk when I go for my lunchtime walk - that's quite refreshing in itself (or was, before I started tripping over Pokemon hunters every few paces).

Had it forced upon me last year. I let the wife book a holiday cottage in Wales.
Spectacular place, but one tiny flaw. No Broadband, no phone, nearly no mobile coverage.
I had to pile the furniture up in one corner of the cottage to get enough mobile signal to use my phone as a wifi hotspot.

I use the internet 'more than 50 times a day'
and may well check the odd app 10 times a day
but i much prefer to have a beer and a chinwag.
