Others, ie Hays IT, have a preferred list of four, one being Giant and just won't consider using others because 'it is too much work for them to have to deal with a load of different companies'

Set up your own Ltd company. If they dont like that flip them the finger.

Does that mean they won't deal with Ltd Co contractors? Does it feck. Tell them you will not deal with Giant under any circumstances and you wish to use your own brolly. They probably get kickbacks (sorry, referral fees) off Giant.
