On the face of it, it might strike one as a bit odd that the leaders of our 2 main parties are pushing for us to Remain within the EU. Particularly when, in the not too distant past, they have both shown a considerable amount of disdain for it.
My theory is that they actually feel that it is a handy smokescreen for their own incompetence. When their policies are seen to be failing they can divert much of the blame onto the EU for "tying their hands". God forbid that this particular excuse-generator be removed, and they then be placed firmly into the headlights of accountability. For that is what is likely to happen upon Brexit, and they are right to fear it. Because the electorate would not trust any of our current crop to balance the books effectively. If their policies are weak and poorly constructed then the buck stops with them and them alone. And they will pay the price at the Polling Booths.
Time to drag these clowns out into the spotlight and see what they are made of.

Working-class people in the UK can see a possibility that something might change for them if they vote to leave the EU. The women in east London and the men in the mining towns all tell me the worst thing is that things stay the same. The referendum has become a way in which they can have their say, and they are saying collectively that their lives have been better than they are today. And they are right. Shouting “racist” and “ignorant” at them louder and louder will not work – they have stopped listening.

For them, talking about immigration and being afraid of immigration is about the precarity of being working class, when people’s basic needs are no longer secure and they want change. The referendum has opened up a chasm of inequality in the UK and the monsters of a deeply divided and unfair society are crawling out. They will not easily go away no matter what the referendum result.

The standard of today's Bremainer posts has hit a new low. Financial incompetence, lack of knowledge of rules, lack of knowledge of markets. Not even any wit or a decent insult.
