Episode IV: A New Hope was added in 1981 which is why nobody has a VHS of the movie without it.
Not that it matters much.

George went back and changed the title of the first movie, and he changed the introductory rolling text too, to emphasise the doctored title.
Originally, it was never called anything but "Star Wars". The colon, new hope, "IV" bits were added by George 20 years later.
Good job other directory don't do this. Shudder to think what The Godfather would be like now.
