Actually George Lucas is just great and everything he does is absolutely smashing. And we was right about Jar Jar.

Episode IV: A New Hope was added in 1981 which is why nobody has a VHS of the movie without it.
Not that it matters much.

Good job other directory don't do this. Shudder to think what The Godfather would be like now.

They were always IV,V and VI. Everybody knew that long before the special editions and new films.Originally posted by unixman View PostNo, the other thing, where the 1977 film is still called "Star Wars" (not "IV" rubbish that Lucas added decades later).
Is George Lucas involved with these new films? Because Empire Strikes Back was always by far the best, mainly because George Lucas wasn't there so much.

Many people protest at George for not allowing anyone to see the original, and for his constant meddling with earlier films - you know, removing Darth's eyebrows, changing the nub-nub song, moving a rock, making guido shoot first etc. He's messing with our legacy, I tell ya.

The only half decent one from the new lot was ROTS and that's being kind.Originally posted by VectraMan View PostI think Jar Jar was unfairly maligned and used an excuse for the real problem: the terrible script and terrible acting. Number 2 was frankly number 2, and I haven't even seen number 3 apart from a bit of the end when it was on TV.
Carrie Fisher's been moaning about being told to lose weight for the movie, though she obviously was still happy to take the money.
