    All about LTVs but essentially its lower risk for banks - they'll have an asset which they have first dibs on when codger shuffles off their mortal coil.
    £400k house, £200k equity in it. House gets sold, bank gets its money back and estate gets the rest. Much lower risk and if the mortgage holder's a stiff, no repossession needed to get the Daily Heil up in arms about.
