I did one through GCS. They paid on time and used paper timesheets (yay). Apart from that they were f-ing useless as well. Total marketoids.

I contracted for this bunch from May 01 - Mar 05 on the same contract...

The only thing is I can say is that they always paid on time (weekly too) but I did all the renewal discussions with the end client etc.

GCS did no work whatsoever (except payroll and collecting their fee).

I just used to ring them every 6 months and say 'extension has been agreed with 'x' with a rate increase of 'x' per hour and my new end date is 'x' and they then sent me a letter of extension confirming new details.

Yes, I know all about working long term on the same contract, but hey, it was top dollar and 10 mins in the car from home!

I replaced a 'cheap' contractor on my last contract.
I interviewed and because I wasnt immediately available they got someone else quickly. They paid him £140 per day but charged him in at £250 vs my rate for the role at £325 at 15%.

He lasted one morning and was escorted off site.

I've talked to them a few times and they seem to be effing useless. I don't expect to get anything from them ever. I have always been either too experianced, or too inexperianced for all of thier roles which mystifies me. (I could understand being one or the other but not both...)

    started a topic GCS Ltd

    GCS Ltd

Had a call last night from an agent at GCS Ltd asking if I was available for contract. Gave me a basic job spec and asked if I could do it and was I immediately available. Asked for a reference and gave a spiel about only sending three CV's tomorrow morning.

So I asked how much it was, to whit the reply was I dont have a budget yet.
So I say, I will only do it for £400 per day as it is central London. Oh ok, its just I've got 50 cvs and Im going to ring round tonight and send the three cheapest.

    Idiot.

Working...
