That is scary... I talked to her about two weeks ago about my broadband connectio being slow. No wonder nothing happened until I rang back between 8am and 5pm, when you get British based tech support...

These people used to be one of the best:

    http://www.nuance.com/realspeak/languages/

Unfortunately their interactive demo thing seems to have been offline for some time now. Nothing to do with people like me of course, who liked to enter all sorts of insulting stuff in various languages and then stick it on my phone.

Edit: for that authentic call centre touch, here's Sangeeta: ftp://ftp.scansoft.com/products/real...i_sangeeta.wav

Very good sir!! I think you've started a trend.

In actual fact, I think "Simon" sounds a little like Hugo.

The text to speech is pretty good. I just put in (Simon, English):

"Get another beer from the fridge you fecking biatch!"

And turned up the volume on my PC and within 30 seconds, another cool one appeared.

    Rock on!

Apparently that is used by indian call centres to read from prepared scripts.

Unfortunately they use a mix of a geordie, wolverhampton and glasgow accent.
