Dobra,
you will find that it is only those with small nodgers that feel they have to play the "I've got a Degree" card too heavily. Those who can DO, and those who cannot drone on about their paper qualifications and use them as some sort of social crutch to try and mask their lack of personality.
In Poland you can buy a degree for 100 zloty so I do not understand why everyone gets so emotional about them.
Do you argue like this all the time? I started with a harmless error in my job title and look what has happened.

I personally don't have a BEng, however that doesn't stop me from getting irate when everybody claims to be an engineer. And not all degrees are a peice of piss compared to engineering, I hear the following are quite hard as well:
Physcis
Medicine (Doctor, not Nurse)
Architect
But yes everybody else should bow down because of thier complete unworthiness, and don't even get me started on those media studies graduates...
Simply that there is more than one definition of an engineer, according to the dictionary and in real life. Arguing over it seems a bit pointless. Unless you want every non engineering graduate to bow down at our complete unworthiness since clearly any other degree is a piece of piss in comparison to the mind boggling brightness of engineering profesionals.
As a by the by, I nearly took an engineering degree, but visiting a couple of University engineering campuses soon put paid to that. Never met such a dreary lot in my life. An opinion reinforced whenever I met any of my best mate's fellow engineering students, they never failed to surprise me with their dullness. Must have been all that hard work.
