Aye, the construction industry has really picked up last few years, when I first started contract I could pick any contract I wanted. Its not as good as it was, but still plenty of work out there for us just now

Even more ironic is the cascade of emails I get from Hoaxley for mechanical cad jobs & contracts, about which I know nothing.

Can't remember what kind of CAD he did, mind.

I potch about abit with CadStar but I've never WFH with it.

Did a little bit with Vutrax, and some more with OrCad, but I'd have starved long ago if I was relying on that.

YMMV if your type of CAD is AutoCAD, Ideas, or similar.

By the standards in force, Specifically In General, that qualifies as a useful & informative post.

    Gawdelpus. All.

On mature flection I think he was "Cadman".

    Or this guy?

View Profile: cadengineer - Contractor UK Bulletin Board

We obviously bored the pants off him.
I am full time CAD mate. Well, its mostly 3D stuff nowadays. I specialise in Autodesk Civil 3D, but use AutoCAD for things like 2D details and structural drawings, as I am not up to speed with Autodesk Revit yet

By the way IIRC, YMMV and WFH. And I got pulled up for LOL???

I have no idea what yer talking about buddy, so I cannae even go along with the banter. But I am sure its something that people are laughing at my expense, fair do's

A quick google of PCB brings up Printed Circuit Boards, so Google isn't any good to me, unless that is what you are referring to..... :P

    3) If you are to be successful as a contractor you need to know when people are just having a bit of fun at your expense - if you get stuck up your own ass whenever that happens you will struggle at whatever you do.

But in summation no no CAD techs on here really...
Well I was replying in jest and ppl had a go, so I just retaliated I suppose. Apologies if it seemed nasty. I just asked a question and people were basically saying I should know the answer myself as I work in that field. I am using this forum as a part of my research into doing what I want to do.

And don't worry, I don't struggle as a contractor, I am very successful TBH

And yeah, I kinda realise now that there is not many CAD guys on here
