I know I have to apply for forms are these the same Probate forms for HMRC and will this provide the necessary letters of recommendation needed for sending off to all the banks / companies. I also read I need to freeze all accounts, but open a new estate bank account. I assume that's done in your name as executor of a will and funds eventually transferred

    Anyone any experience or tips?
Have a look online - there are some good resources out there. My parents did it a couple of years ago when my granddad died.

The bank account can be in the name of the executor - it could even be an existing bank account, as long as you keep it clear what money is yours and what's the estate. With my parents, mum cleared out an old HSBC account and then used that for all the money that came in. Then when it was all settled, she paid out from there to the beneficiaries.

    Any Tips?

Don't leave important stuff like handling probate to a muddle headed simpleton?
