What is it with people and their smartphone cameras?

I was at the Chester zoo yesterday on a day out and to adopt some animals. ( I know, I am soft at heart ) At every fecking enclosure, all I saw was people holding their smartphones and looking at the animals through their lens instead of enjoying the plain view. Some twats brought in their posh DSLR cameras and were trying to show off their chimp arses.

The knobs were so obsessed with taking photographs that they were even taking selfies with a roaring lion instead of enjoying the roar of that majestic beast.

I almost pinned a man to the ground or threw him into the lion enclosure when he was pushing me to get this fecking DSLR between me and my balls to shoot the newly born tiger triplets. At one point there were so many cameras in my line of sight that I walked through everyone to go stand at the front to enjoy the view. (Why would anyone mess with a 6'3 + 20 stone fattie who knows katate, kung fu and 17 other dangerous words ?! )

Is this where the civilisation is headed to?!

What does the expert panel think of such behaviour?

    How do we correct this?
It is outrageous!! Talk about selfish and self centred.
Twunts that behave like that should be shot.

I expect this is just the response you wanted?

Just watch the damm concert and replay the video in your head like we have done for decades...
I did think it was just me being a grumpy git when I first saw it and found it irritating, but clearly it hacks off plenty of other folks too.

It does spoil the view when 300 - 30,000 morons are holding up phones in the way throughout the concert so they can't say it's not affecting anyone else.

It's true since the advent of cheap digital photography and phones with Ok camera's that some people see the sights and events almost entirely on their little view screens, their loss.

I'm not much good as a photographer, but I look first then fire off a few photo's, sometimes I get lucky and have one or two worth keeping.

I've been kinda guilty of this, going to Chester Zoo and coming back with 200+ photos, although the proportion of time I spend looking through the lens is small compared to the proportion of time I spend enjoying the animals anyway. It just seems like I'm doing nothing but taking pictures!
