Last gig really close to home, work was good and I made quite a lot of new friends there (being a local gig I didn't mind getting involved in the social side)

The fact it has ruined me for any other gig makes it the worse, now hate working away
Had gig like this a few years ago.

Went back as contractor to place I'd worked at 15 years before as a permie. In the interim, I'd also worked with some people who'd also gone back. So a lot of them were mates of mine.....

Sorry to leave in the end.

Tough work if you can get it
Reminds me of when we used to work with SurfControl for a web proxy, they had a guy who's job title was "Nipple Guy" and we had to see if their scanning software picked up on all the nipples in photos

The worst was when I walked out after my first months invoice hadn't been paid, client wasn't interested in me going direct and my suspicions of the client having cash flow problems were later realised when they went bust shortly after the directors doing a runner with what was left our the agencies money

Still lost a months billing despite getting paranoid

Sounds like for some of you it will be Barclays and associated parking hassle? :-)

started a topic Best and worst gigs?

    Best and worst gigs?

Ignoring actual work and rate etc, based solely on things like location, facilities, people, managers, etc what is your best and worst gig?

Best for me was one where manager left the office at 3pm every day and encouraged everyone else to leave no later than 4pm. Also, for some reason, he thought I was great as did all the permies!

Worst one probably one where manager didnt even know I was coming. Had a strop that someone had dumped me on him. Then location was supposed to move after max one month and he didnt know anything about this either (agent lied). So I walked after a few months.

Working...
