    Lets face it.

If it's Public run, unions and governments cream off the money. If it's Privatised, shareholders cream off the money.

Just keep voting Labour and stop worrying.

Well Gordon is and that's all that matters. He's the next best thing to Arthur Scargill.

Renationalisation of the utilities is the only solution ... we also need uniform salaries, no private property, and no free market. It's like christianity, once you open your heart to socialism there is no alternative.

There is no competition in supply market - energy is a commodity and very high prices shifted the balance, this pretty much forces all resellers to have similar prices. There is a need for more gas and oil fields to be discovered locally - but smart Brown Stuff taxed the Northern Sea dev so much that companies begun to stop dev there, very "wise" taxation indeed.

Oh Dear: Npower announces third price rise

    Inflation anyone...

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/5324794.stm

'Energy company Npower has announced its third price increase for domestic customers so far this year.
Its six million customers will face a 17.2% rise in their gas bills while electricity prices will go up 9.9% from 1 October.

Rising wholesale energy prices, which it said had jumped 250% since 2003 and 60% in the past year, were blamed.

The new charges will lead to an average increase of £92 a year for gas users and £36 for electricity customers. '
