I dont know if I ever told this story on here before, but I saw Flash Gordon on daytime yesterday. Seeing Brian Blessed on a thread yesterday as well brought it back to me.
I was doing a gig in Eastcote about ten years ago, working opposite two lovely ladies, one was a beautiful twenty something sylph of an asian girl. Pakistani maybe, I was never sure.
Anyways, I was singing a bit of queen 'despatch war rocket ajax, to brrriiinggg back his body'
and they asked me what it was, we had a bit of banter . i explained about the film and said it wasnt available on video . this young girl said her brother could get anything, he was an arthur daly type.
So she sneaks me in a video, and of course it was flesh gordon, the porno satire. I was a bit mortified, she must have thought i was a right perv. so I asked her if she had watched it
she smiled sweetly 'twice. but i didnt hear those songs you keep singing.'
