    I work in the public sector (local government), and had to provide references before interview. Like you, I was wary about it but as I had nothing else in the pipeline, thought why not. I warned my references first that I was doing this and they never got any grief off the agent so I think it was all above board.

    Some Govmnt and Defence roles are subject to a new procurement method through key suppliers, but I have not heard it referred to by a specific name.

    Depends which bit of the public sector and which agent you are talking about...

    Uneasy or not, if it is the same thing I am thinking off then if you do not go through the process you will not be put forward for the role(s).

    It sucks, but it is being enforced.

    Just had a call about a contract role in the public sector.

    To proceed agent informs me that they have to process the application using the Matrix SCM portal.

    Anyone on here had and dealings with it?

    Not too happy about giving out my NI number and references in advance.

    [And the agent did not sound like Lawrence Fishburn]
