I've been contracting here for a while now.

Conform with the Limosa requirements. That should be all you need to do.

As a company director, you are considered as self employed, so I think all you need to do is register under your own name.

Considering a short gig in Belgium. Maximum 3 months and would go in and out of the country several times.

I've read the guide on contracting in Belgium and the obligatory limosa registration for employees of a limited company sent temporarily to Belgium when present for more than 5 days a month or more than 20 consecutive days if you were to use the exemption for Limosa registration of
    "Meetings in a closed circle"
Employees and self-employed persons who attend meetings in a closed circle in Belgium are
exempt. To enjoy exemption, they may not spend more than a total of 60 days per year at such
meetings in Belgium. Furthermore, no such meeting may last longer than 20 consecutive
    calendar days.

I've been told registration of a UK limited company is required in the kruispuntbank (Crossroads Bank for Enterprises), but I would not want to open a subsidiary in Belgium. This seems to be what the Crossroads Bank for Enterprises is for like companies house. The agency I am speaking to says that registration in the Crossroads Bank for Enterprises is complusory. Surley just a limosa registration would be enough were you to be working there short term (and might not be necessary if you used the "Meetings in a closed circle" exemption).

Any tips from people who have done this?

Of course, the other option is a legitimate payroll co locally, but high tax.
