    Re: Notice Period

After some discussion I've pushed for two working weeks which is more than was initially offered and they seem to be happy. I think a month is a little much for a three month contract and it does work both ways.

    Thanks for the responses.

    Notice Period

A number of people have said to me that notice periods (or the ability to terminate a contract) doesn't go down well if you are trying to avoid IR35. For the record I don't have one in my current contract.

Bit of a "how long is a piece of string?" question. I've seen all sorts of notice periods in the range zero up to about one month, or with no termination clause at all. Four weeks would certainly not be unusual, but as it is only a three monther neither would one week, or even no termination clause at all.

    Typical "Termination upon notice" period

    HI all,

I have another question for you all.

I have reviewed my contract and been advised legally that it looks that it should indeed be outside of IR35 (yes - a grey area I know!)

Anyway, my question is what in everyone's experience is a typical notice period if either party wishes to terminate the contract for any reason (i.e. not a material breach). It's a three month contract for the record.

    TIA
Working...
