Hi there
after a period in the Doldrums the SAP market seems to have picked up markedly these days (you need to have FUNCTIONAL as well as purely technical ABAP experience) but having been "On the Beach" for 4 months I've had 4 interviews all in one day and actually got a job to start almost immediately.
My only concern is that the rates are nothing like they used to be a few years ago --is this typical of the IT industry or across the economy as a whole -- back in 2000 or so I used to EASILY be able to get around 600 - 700 GBP a day for SAP contracts -- these days one needs a LOT more technical expertise but the rates are a LOT lower -- 400 - 500 GBP is about the best you can do in most situations (although for very specialized stuff you can get a bit more. But in these cases the market is much more restricted too.
Cheers
