I've been using them for about 4 months already and I'd say they are OK. Payments are on time (although with 30 days delay but this was in the contract), didn't try to play stupid tricks on me after the contract has started (unlike these b*stards from Datacom for example), gave me a few breaks on things I couldn't arrange for the end client. Apart from this a normal agency - work promptly, follow your queries with the employer, can't say too much bad words for them. Of course, don't forget it's an agency and never fully trust them on sensitive matters.

They are not preferred suppliers for some projects and deal with other parties who are preferred suppliers, so you can end up with lots of middlemen between you and the end client.

We all know agencies will do basically everything to get people to sign a contract, and try to boost their margin as much as they can, but in my little experience I know that some are less "tough" than others.

If you think the agency is taking a huge margin and they reject your negotiations then you can tell them that you will contact the client directly out of courtesy to let them know that the rate was too low for you to take the job. It's a nuclear thing to do but if you aren't going to get the job or the agency are taking the pee with their margin then the client will find out and know not to deal with that agent again.
It's a bit of a tightrope to walk though.

Unless your name is Messi or Ronaldo I'd suggest you try and speak to as many agents as possible. If you are lucky enough to be offered a role then feel free to bring up the rate.

Impressions on Eurostaff agency
Hello,
Has someone worked with Eurostaff? I'd like to know what your impressions are with regards to rate negociations, margins they work on, in general correctness of what they say - before I move on to talk with them.
I'm not really desperate in looking for a new role so I'd only start discussing if I was 100% sure I'm not ripped off.
We all know agencies will do basically everything to get people to sign a contract, and try to boost their margin as much as they can, but in my little experience I know that some are less "tough" than others.
I'd like to avoid over-charging agencies (like for example more than 10% would be a lot - do you agree?)
Any hints & tips on negociation and how much to insist on getting your rate would be very welcome.
