Yes. Loss Leading Pre Sales Work
I have been approached to offer some consultancy work for a friends work, what I am hoping to do is take a two or three days up there to talk through the requirements, produce some sort of report to the owner to say this is what I think you need.
As its only a couple of days work and I get to catch up with an old friend this will be done free of charge, on the hope of winning some paid work from it, obviously these will be business expenses, flight up, hotel, meal out with the friend and her boss which will all be receipted etc.
