Advice on working in Norway
Hello, I'm a long term contractor (12 years now, Java dev/arch), have worked in Aus, NZ, States & Hong Kong. I'm interested in working in Norway. I don't know if contracting is part if their culture. Anyway, if anyone has any experience / advice it would be welcome:
- Any good websites for finding IT contracts? Not found much so far. Heaps in Germany and UK, but...
- Advice re tax etc?
- Any other useful info??
Regards

Great place
I did a three month contract in summer last year. I made a couple of good friends and Oslo is a brilliant place to live but it is very expensive. It's got a small-town feel but it's a lively place and the bars are always busy towards the weekend.

Most Nordic people speak very good English and if they work in IT they have to speak it.
Fortunately or unfortunately English is that language of technology and science.
So language isn't a barrier to you working in any Nordic country.

Contract in Norway?
Is anyone here familiar with market and work culture in Norway?
Is there anything beyond Oil&Gas and hipster startups there?
Are there many offices that have English as the working laguage?
How is Oslo as a city to work in and get away on weekends?Tags: None
