Brings a tear to my eye just reading this post - as it makes me feel soooo old. Last looked at the Tandem non-stop for a media client in 1989. Yikes!

Can't imagine there's a very big pool of people out their specialising in it these days, but there are bound to be some. Guess it depends how desperate the client is. Of course, there will be at least 1,000,000 "fully qualified, hugely experienced" Bobs who can be offered to the client via a multitude of "consultancies". Not sure if the client would want that option?

Short answer is: no-one knows. I'd imagine as a specialist in this area you would know the state of the market more than anyone else, TBH. Keep looking for another role is the best advice I'd offer.

Tandem/HP Non-Stop Administrators

Hi

My gig is about to end, my team leader has been given promotion and they need to backfill his role, which means the head count in the team has been reduced (victim, me!). I've been talking with my usual agents and they all seem to think it will be very difficult to hire a Contract Tandem Administrator.

I've seen them advertising the role all over the Job boards. I certainly havent come across many Tandem Computers in the Banking sector. What do you reckon their chances are?
