I'm working in Leeds at the moment and have a 125 mile per day commute, not dissimilar to yourself.

You can stay over at the Etap for as little as £18 per night if you book a month in advance, otherwise its £25 which is still for nothing. I guess I spend £15+ per day in fuel anyway. This is by far the cheapest hotel in Leeds.

I walked in and saw these 2 birds snogging and thought "great!" - It's when I went in the toilets and had my arse felt which was the final straw

Only just found out that any bars with a rainbow flag outside mean they're gay bars. How long has that been going on ??

Yeah would be going by car. yeah probs best to do that to start off with and see what the role is actually like.

i would be coming from the north . a1(m) then a64. bout 67mile.

And you'd be driving past my house as you come into Leeds if you do so don't forget to wave!

Its doable to commute, but I wouldn't recommend it every day, I am doing a similar amount of travelling and find it best to stay over a couple of nights a week. Where abouts in Leeds is the gig (PM me if you don't want to publicise it) and I will see if there are any half decent B&B's local

The rooms actually sleep 3 for that price too - 1 double and a bunked single, so if you know someone who is willing to share then it could be £9 each per night or even £6 each per night with 3 of you !!

Theres a good little boozer across the road too called the Palace which does some nice real ales.

It's an expensive time when I stay over though, as I get mysteriously drawn into a 'gentlemans' bar called Silks... - Check that one out ...

I've had a quick look at the PremierInn site just outside the centre and you can book room only for £29 per night for two nights that should at least allow you to stay over a couple of nights as BolshieBastard said.

Cheers thanks for the info guys,guess this would be the best option. currently on 18ph (2nd 3rd line-9 miles from home) but only got few weeks left.suppose this role would work out same once ive taken off petrol costs etc....

Looking at taking a contract working away in the Leeds area.(1hr 30mins) away from my home.obviously may be best to base myself there during the week. rate is around 180 per day (3rd line)6 monther.just wondering if its worth while ie once rent in taken in account etc.saw that some people suggested getting hotel for first week or so to see what the job is like etc..

I've worked away a couple of times and imo, 180 a day isnt enough to make renting worthwhile. You'd be better commuting 3 days a week and staying over 2 nights a week in a hotel. Even then, a quality 40 quid a night hotel will be pretty rare in lids and hard to find.

90 minute each way commute is easy. I do this 4 days a week and Im on more than double your propose rate.
