    Difference from UK market in that period?

    In the UK the rate was £450 per day expenses were usually on a case by case basis (got em most of the time, but a lot of haggling)
    No religious nuts in your face about Jesus all the time.
    In the UK people don't like experts. Heheh

    I did some contracting in the states about 2.5 years ago

    Main points.

    I was doing a series of short visits (5 day training courses).
    Americans for some reason love UK tutors/experts
    All expenses were paid on top of the rate (including the flights)
    NO VAT
    I got £550 per day
    I often sayed over a for a week of leisure between 1 week engagements.

    That said, Americans are just weird. Everywhere I went, way to many people were overtly into Jesus and in your face about it.
