The Job Centre has the kind of roles you are talking about and it is not all minimum wage work. But if you can't be bothered looking, you don't get to find out. But just criticising the advice without checking its validity or relevance is rude.
For example, in the category "Software Professionals" there have been 2,132 job ads placed with the Job Centre in GB in the past 14 days for temporary roles. E.g.:

i earn good money and it wouldnt be easy togo back to job center and look for minimum wages etc...
you may wonder why i need cash if im on a good salary, but its a temporary thing need to increase the income for next couple of month.
