Thanks for the info. Have worked in AMS before but not rellocated there on a permanent basis.

A moot point anyhow, the client came back and decided the role is now a permie one.

I just took on a contractor at double that rate. Seems like in the 'field service optimisation' arena rates are alive and well.

Commuted/worked in Amsterdam last year, if you want an apartment in town, circa 1500 eur/month IIRC.

Costs aside, I loved it, and I'd seriously consider quitting UK and going back with the family if a decent job came up. Everything just works - Schiphol, trains, trams, bikes - no hassle at all.

    Thanks.
The rates in Amsterdam are higher. But will definitely not offset your expenses if you spend nothing on subsistence in the UK. At a very rough estimate the rates are higher by around 20%. This is just my experience and the actual premium (or discount in some areas) will vary.

  • Programme/ Senior Project Manager rates in Amsterdam

Per thread title - what are the going rates in Amsterdam for Programme and Senior Project Managers? Two clients have asked me to quote.

Do the rates in AMS off-set the costs of living there compared to what you can get for the same role here in the UK?

    Thanks.
