I have a mate of mine who is "based" there, but he is a perm outside broadcast satellite tech and spends a whole load of his time, jetsetting around for different events.

Will check with him and see how he finds it, he lives in East London, so quite a trek me thinks.

This was his reply.

"Osterley is fine and getting better. What department is he going into. I get a train from Waterloo to Syon Lane. From East London the whole trip is just over an hour. they also run shuttle busses from other stations."

Here's a question for you Sky people, how flexible are they with working hours, specifically working from home? I currently WFH once a week so I can take my kids to and from nursery (wife in London once a week). Was hoping to continue that.
Obviously this depends on who I'm reporting to, but is it known to happen, at all, anywhere, ever?

It happens yes. They're actually quite geared up for it as a company, with VPNs being an actual thing, and all. Down to the individual team really, but in particular they're quite accommodating of family obligations.

They're flexible in that sense, but like you said it depends on who you end up working with.

Refused a contract about a year ago exactly for that reason, it's absolute hell to get to and from there

There is a decent bus service from Osterley underground station. But it would take 20 minutes to cross a mile in the morning. Better be early. The place itself is not bad, I mean Osterley. No comments about Sky though. And for parking you can check if Wyke Green golf club or Grasshopper Rugby club could be of use.

The car park up Syon Lane, past Tesco, is pretty empty until about 8:45 or so. Fifteen minutes walk to Sky campus, but it's manned. They just closed one of their own car parks for building work, so it's a bit of a nightmare finding parking. Permies get to use Tesco car park, though.

Experis

Oh dear M4 driving that's not good, as far as I know Sky only deal with two agencies Experis and Hydrogen. I was with Hydrogen when I was there and they were pretty much on the ball not sure about Experis though.

Experis have been excellent so far, but that's the individual I'm dealing with. Very untypical for an agent, so very happy with that

It can be quite a trek from East London, the contractors I knew from that part of the city told me on average it took 1hr to 1hr 30mins one way

Contractors aren't allowed to park on site at all. Good luck finding space anywhere after 8am it's a nightmare. It does all depends on what team/department so it's very hit and miss.
