For what it's worth people in Dublin also having lots of issues and all though the local support staff are ok .. the staff based at the contract portal are terrible.

I'd like to know what was wrong with the old system...at least that worked.

I've informed my employer and won't be renewing my contract with them unless this rectified very quickly.

And definatly follow this advice, while i would doubt either of these agencys would go under one should never never take the risk (because even big agencys can go under, though rare),because if they do go under contractors are pretty much screwed.

Hiccup's happen, but if an agency cannot sort it in a few days it's not a good sign

Check out this website which sets out the interest and compensation you can claim. Late payment legislation and the BPPG Interest calculator.

WHY do employers really believe these people are SPECIALIST IT recruiters......just scallies who use kids as staff...
They use stage school rejects. If they can't convince a candidate that they are less than nothing, they don't get the role. Don't feel bad though, there is a cruise ship out there who will employ them. Somewhere. Probably a Phillippine ferry.

I'd be explaining to the client why you won't be back until the situation is sorted - racking up a few weeks of bad debt is not something I would want to do too regularly.

If the client starts getting involved (assuming that they give a rats arse about whether you get paid or not), it might push the agency to sort something out for you. If the payment terms are too long, then explain to the agency that you will be seeking to reduce the time between invoice and payment to reduce their level of bad debt.

But no money? If you'd agreed a payment schedule with them and you didn't get paid, then I guess you'd be entitled to withdraw your services.
I don't expect anyone to agree with me here but - ahem - is the client still receiving invoices for your services? Did you forget to submit your timesheet this week?

Edit: do I need to spell it out? A bottle of cheap plonk is probably 10 mins of your billable time - tops.

Incredible another week goes by and nothing but excuses from Computer People.

No money being paid just pathetic excuse after pathetic excuse. Was promised a chaps payment for the third time this week and just nothing.

Have never experienced not being paid by an agency before.

Will never take another contract with Computer People.
