Re: Con puter People
stack em high & sell em cheap if you can live with that AFAIK they are unlikely to bankrupt any time soon.

Guest repliedThe primary concern is whether they can get you work.
If not, the rest really doesn't matter much.

Guest repliedCheers for that. So taking on board what you've said above, Computer People have been mentioned to me elsewhere as being reasonable, providing you can find a good agent there to deal with. Any opinions on them?

Guest repliedThe best agencies are the ones that get you jobs and pay on time.
Obvious really.
Trouble is, you have to find them.
Orion in Bristol were ok until I told one of their agents to @#%$ off because he was putting me forward for inappropriate roles without asking me first. But I'd guess he's long departed by now.

Guest repliedsmaller specialist agencies may be better as they need to protect their reputation in a niche market. My last two jobs were partially via the same niche agent.
Large ones tend to have pile them high flog em cheap attitude but get more opportunities.

Guest repliedHard one really, while bob might have found agency X was great John and joe got treated so bad they will be marked for life and while bob and joe got bad service from agency Y John got top notch service from them.
Probably best to assume all are bad then if you get good service you will be nicely susprised.

Reputable agency
Hi,
I'm seriously looking at taking the plunge and going contracting. I've checked out all the pros and cons and whatnot and am reasonably happy with it all.
The only thing that I haven't found is information on which tend to be the better agencies to go with? Can anyone here help?
Cheers, unwashedTags: None
