Totally agree that the visa restriction stinks. I had quite a few interviews and they all sounded keen until they found out about the visa. Holiday/working visa is way too limited. Not exactly a reciprocal agreement between the two contries.
Go for the business visa where you need to calculate points for your application....
I actually ended up working in a porn distribution warehouse - I kid you not. It isn't on my CV....

yeah, i went to Oz to use my work/travel visa, however i found it increasingly difficult to find someone to employee me in IT.
the visa restrictions at the time only allowed you to work for any one employer for a max of 3months.
this became an issue when applying for jobs. altough looking back i cannot see why??
****** joke i reckon. they can come over here and do as they please, whilst the rest of us have to go bannana picking to make a living out there!!!
