maybe ,but in reality they would accept it- especially if we levied a nice little ICT Tax -maybe 10k for each one .
does anyone know how many ICTs have been audited ie full validated interview process.i guess the answer is zero.
Im amazed it isnt higher up the political agenda.
Tesco makes 800 jobs - big headlines.
Outsourcers import 23,000 staff -you wont see that on the BBC.

I guess the government figures that it's impossible to protect the interests of workers in this industry as the employers who have relatively larger power will just go somewhere cheaper or at least threaten to.Originally posted by Aloha1 View PostWhy will the Tories act different than Nu Labour -im sure the IT Outsourcers reward both with donations ?
And 5-10% cut makes little difference.Indian outsourcers have imported 23,000
staff to the UK in 2009 alone.
This is why we have no apprenticeships -corporations will not train UK Teenagers in junior IT/Finance roles unless they are forced to by legislation.
Unlike China and India we have no strategy of national self interest-or the strategy is the market knows best.
I bet our French neighbours wouldnt allow it.....

Too late IMO. In last 5 years many IT shops from subcontinent brought in plane loads and this govt handed out permits to every Tom, Dick and Injun. Thats one reason why this recession is deeper and bench longer than in 2001/2. Its beyond PCG OFTM next Tory govt's ability to repair. 'Just like old days' is anything but ...

Some good stuff in there. Although there'll be no cap on ICTs, their right to settle in the UK is being removed and the tax treatment of their allowances might get looked at. If both of those happened, it would make it a lot less attractive for them to come to the UK and work here at a cheaper rate.
