My invoices to the USA have my bank, account number, sort code, SWIFT (BIC) and IBAN numbers on them and never had a problem. USAian companies are a bit strange sometimes in paying, the current one, a very large service company could only pay by check which costs me a fair bit. A few moons ago I used to get paid bi-weekly by cheque drawn on a Las Vegas bank for varying alrge amount of sums which used to get me some strange looks at the bank when paying in

I've invoiced to companies in the States before.
As above I gave them my banks SWIFT code and my accounts IBAN number and all was fine, payments took around 5 business days to clear.

PZZ, I suggest you find someone else to deal with at Citibank, in my experience they have been fine .

In which case, his American friends should quote his IBAN when sending the MT103 via SWIFT, otherwise the bank might cock up the crediting of his account - as has happened to me when quoting just an account number/sort code.
Yanks tend not to know what to do with the sort code and get it wrong so if you use an IBAN (which is unique) they generally get it right.

Regardless of what Yahoo answers tells you, I can assure you that American banks know what an IBAN is.

You will also need your routing number- 9 digit number from the bottom of your cheques.
