At the very least have payment terms agreed formally in writing (as well as on the purchase order)

Agent without contract?

I've received a PO from an agent without a contract, to provide services to their client.

Is this really to my advantage? Should I insist upon having a general agreement signed so that some limited protection is offered? Or indeed is it a good thing that no contract exists and just the PO?
