    1) see if anyone else can produce Y and compare costs
    2) Z or any other company for that matter may not want to pay more than a one-off commission for the introduction - I think 10% may be top of the range they may be prepared to pay
    3) consider being 'prime contractor' and add your own markup onto what Z or other company want to charge - however, this leaves you responsible for everything and you can be sued - so you need a good back to back agreement and you will get sucked into every issue that arises which really is a job creation scheme for yourself so make sure your mark up rewards you well for this.

I don't know much about the value of this etc but if its small then take the commission, if its big then you have a job!

Good luck and let us know how it goes!

    Which contract to ask for?

    Dear all,

I'm new at this website but I hope someone there can give me a good advice.

I'll try to be as clear as possible.

A company X requested me a budget quotation for a product Y. I forwarded this request to a company Z that seems to be interested in producing Y (company X and Z don't know each other and I'm the middle-man linking the two companies).
The point is: should I ask to company Z to give me a percentage for any item Y produced? If so, what kind of percentage (10-20%...)? For how long am in right to ask for a percentage? Is there a type of contract that could be signed between me and Z?

I feel like I'm not guaranteed and I would not like company Z and X started to collaborate between themselves excluding me from any profit.

I hope to have been clear

    Thanks.

Working...
X
