I haven't come across much demand for it to be honest. My personal theory is that the communication (read lack of it) coming out of oracle corp with regards to Fusion, the future, upgrades etc has a lot to do with it. Those that are currently running Siebel are adopting a wait and see approach until Fusion and similarly prospective new customers are reluctant to invest in Siebel so close to the release of Fusion. That's my theory anyway.

That theory makes very good sense. Siebel is obviously a dead man walking.

There are no Siebel development jobs in the UK. There are only jobs managing remote developments.

Even the jobs advertised for Europe seem like cv harvesting exercises to me.

I'm looking for a Siebel contract and I'm resigned to working in Europe. All the Siebel projects I have worked in the UK are now offshored, so only BAs and managers required.

I'm finding the market just fine for my Siebel skills in Germany, but much as I like Germany, my life is inexorably tied to the UK, and I am desperate to stop this weekly commute and cheap hotels/restaurants. But I don't seem to see much Siebel work in the UK. I'm not sure why that is.

I searched Siebel in UK on CUK job search today, and found 8 results. Most striking to me are thar 6 of the 8 appear to be permanent jobs; and (possibly related) they are all high/early level work: analysts, architects, designers. All planners, no engineers.

Does this mean that recovery is on its way but projects are all in early stages? Or does it mean that only the chiefs are in the UK, the Indians are, well, in India?
